WHY WE SERVE
Big Country Veterans ("BCV") was created to honor and support those who have sacrificed so much for our nation’s freedoms.
It is our mission to promote awareness of these sacrifices and bring communities together to foster healing environments and provide meaningful resources to help veterans, and their families, conquer life after combat.

WHO WE SERVE
Big Country Veterans is dedicated to supporting the brave men and women who put their lives in harm's way to protect our nation’s freedoms. We focus on helping combat veterans, along with their families and caregivers, with the challenges faced when transitioning to civilian life following their sacrificial service to our country by providing a space for connection and community.

HOW WE SERVE
At Big Country Veterans, we provide programs and services designed to foster camaraderie and advancement for veterans and their families. Our offerings include health support, wellness retreats, and community-building activities that help veterans reconnect and overcome challenges. We are committed to empowering veterans with the resources they need to thrive, while giving back to those who have given so much for our country.

Our Story
At Big Country Veterans, we are driven by gratitude and a commitment to honor the sacrifices made by our veterans. Many face unique challenges after service, such as transitioning to civilian life, coping with physical injuries, managing mental health struggles, and finding a sense of purpose. Veterans deserve the support and community to heal and thrive. Our mission is to ensure veterans don’t feel alone and that their sacrifices are always remembered.

Big Country Veterans was born from a simple yet profound calling - to give veterans a place to reconnect and recapture the camaraderie they cherished during their service. In 2016, Big Country held the Helicopter Veterans Weekend at the Circle Bar Ranch creating an unforgettable experience that brought veterans and civilians together for a unique helicopter hog-hunting experience. This special event held in Truscott, Texas, is home to the Daniel family. They opened their land and hearts to those seeking connection and renewal. In January 2019, Semper Gratus stepped down from its leading role. Recognizing the event’s unique healing impact, a dedicated coalition of volunteers, veterans, and community leaders united to carry the mission forward—giving rise to BCV of Texas (Big Country Veterans). Their vision was crystal clear - to honor and serve those who have sacrificed so deeply for our country. Today, Big Country Veterans is expanding its reach, offering more events, programs, services, and partnerships to provide community, gratitude, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging to our beloved veteran community. The purpose remains steadfastly rooted in standing by our veterans with the same unwavering dedication they have shown to all of us.
